Barbara Hubert, Ph.D., is the Senior Director of Learning Design at BrainPOP, where she leads the learning design of BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. Dr. Hubert began her career as an elementary school special education teacher, working for over ten years in public and charter schools in New York City. She established the vision and direction for creating equitable instructional access as a curriculum and instruction manager at New Visions for Public Schools. Her research focuses on traversing the space between discourses of learner difference and equitable and inclusive research-based instructional practice.

Discover how the redesigned ISTE Seal program offers a comprehensive evaluation of edtech products, emphasizing ISTE Standards, digital pedagogy, and tech usability. This poster session will showcase the value of receiving the new ISTE Seal of Alignment through a case study of BrainPOP, an engaging and rigorous educational solution.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this poster session is to showcase the value of receiving the new ISTE Seal of Alignment through a case study of BrainPOP, an engaging and rigorous educational solution. BrainPOP offers learning experiences that adhere to best practices in ISTE Standards, digital pedagogy, and the learning sciences, while also maintaining high usability, user experience, and user interface standards.

This session aims to demonstrate how the redesigned ISTE Seal of Alignment program provides a comprehensive evaluation of edtech products, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that enhance students' digital age skills and overall educational outcomes.

The session will present data on improved student engagement and learning outcomes, to demonstrate the educational significance and success of BrainPOP, as the product elements aligned to the new ISTE seal are the same elements that drive literacy learning outcomes on BrainPOP.

By the end of this session, participants will:
* Recognize the significance of aligning edtech products to ISTE Standards, digital pedagogy, and the learning sciences.
