I will present example of how project-based learning experiences will transform the learning experience for students through highly engaging, hands-on authentic educational experiences with ties to the challenges we see in the world outside of the classroom. Participants will have access to lessons and curriculum used in the presentation and leave this program inspired and prepared to implement them in the class.
I will present and encourage hands-on cardboard modeling techniques that can be implemented in a variety of community-centered design challenges. we will use simple materials like cardboard, tape, paper and scissors to build a model of homes and begin to lay out a community with a particular problem in need of being addressed. Educators will use design thinking and STEM skills to build models.
