The purpose of the session is for participants to gain an understanding of how to use an asynchronous/hyperdoc format to allow teachers to learn from each other.
Hook: What do you see, notice, wonder about one of the hyperdoc PDs (5 minutes)
Intro: Participants will participate in a video study to see what they are and how they work (10-15 minutes)
Participants will learn how to create a hyperdoc and what each of the components are in the hyper doc. (15 minutes)
We will review the types of things shared within the video studies and how they are gathering the information that is being shared. Participants will stop and jot about other ways they can collect and share information. (10 minutes)
Participants will end by doing an exit ticket where they share some actual class visit topic ideas or how they can utilize this in their schools. Potentially post stickies about pros and cons of the format if time allowed. ( 5 - 10 minutes)
This was primarily research - solution based answer to a problem that our school had which was teachers not being able to collaborate or see each other teaching because they weren't in the building with their students.
There has also been some research done about the providing choice in PD to teachers can increase productivity and engagement in order to meet teacher specific needs --> https://www.k12dive.com/news/should-teachers-choose-their-own-pd/551138/
