In this session, we will share how we have used CoSpaces Edu to engage students. With our acquisition of Oculus Quest headsets and MergeCubes, we wanted to strive to move beyond premade AR and VR experiences. With CoSpaces Edu, students have become active participants in learning. We will show examples of student-created AR and VR and discuss how hardware like VR headsets and Merge Cubes can be used to interact with student projects. But don't worry, headsets and MergeCubes are not required for an impactful learning experience! We will include considerations for managing the software and hardware to maintain a safe digital environment for students. Our presentation will include several examples of AR and VR projects that our students created. These projects were integrated with content area classes. Our examples will include lessons and strategies to help students learn how to use CoSpaces in order to create with it. Additionally, we will present examples and lesson plans created by the CoSpaces Edu team and demonstrate how you can find and use resources to successfully implement an AR/ VR lesson or project with students. You will walk away with resources and strategies to help you feel confident and excited to get your students creating for AR and VR!
