Purpose & objective

Participants will be able to put together a Google Classroom to train teachers of all abilities and grade levels on how to effectively use Google Classroom to enhance learning for their students. Participants will see how to use the features of Google Drive and Google Classroom for students to complete assignments that will facilitate learning curriculum standards and objectives. All files used are shared in a folder as well as shown in a sample Google Classroom (code = dlxaka7). Our parish (county) successfully trained over 3,700 teachers online.

Supporting research

Google Classroom is a learning management system (LMS) that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments and engaging students in learning online or remotely. Teachers can help students become proficient in the ISTE Standards for Students (Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator) by effectively using Google Classroom. The features of Google Classroom can be used to promote all of these skills.
