I share the story of how I created the position of Technology Integration Specialist in my district out of necessity, and how that position has not only grown into a small department, but also shown monumental improvements in teacher confidence, ability, and even student success through the use of supported educational technology.
My objective is to inspire others with this story and share the exact model I created that has driven success in my district.
A secondary objective/purpose is to show creative ways that this model can be adapted based on district needs and resources.
My overarching objective is to explain the relevance of the session title - having a designated Technology Integration Specialist (tech coach) is critical to the success of edtech implementation in a district. I'll explain why and how.
