The purpose of this presentation is to showcase ways in which the myriad tools of the Google for Education Suite can be utilized to streamline the day-to-day work of high school instructional coaches. Specifically, it will highlights ways to conduct classroom walkthroughs and provide feedback with Google Forms, how to use Google Sheets to improve daily schedules, and how to integrate collaborative Google Docs into the coaching/improvement cycle. This will include modeling as well as an opportunity to get hands-on experience with this technology. Brett Mahaffey has 18 years of experience as a public educator in South Carolina. During that time, he has worked as a high school social studies teacher, administrator, and instructional coach. Brett believes that public schools' most important task is to foster students so that they will be active, engaged, and informed participants in our civil society. This can only be accomplished, though, if we are willing to move past antiquated models of what school "was" and focus on what it can be!
