We want to share our design and lessons learned for a yearlong state-funded online teaching academy that used virtual reality to inspire teachers to dream beyond the current capabilities of the average K-12 classroom, build community and reach students in new ways.

Dr. Rebecca Callaway, Arkansas Tech University

Dr. Rebecca Callaway has over 20 years of experience in higher education and over 20 years teaching in the PK-12 environment. Dr. Callaway served as Site Director for a $4.3M PT3 Grant through the US Department of Education. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with PK-12 faculty and university faculty to enrich their courses with a variety of technologies.

Dr. Theresa Cullen, Arkansas Tech University

Dr. Cullen is a Professor and the Department Head of Curriculum and Instruction at Arkansas Tech University. P She has taught a variety of courses about integrating technology in meaningful ways to enhance education and student success and is a regular national speaker and has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator since 2015. She has several certifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, SCRUM Master, and Adobe Captivate Specialist.
