Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

By the end of this session, educators will be able to obtain new ideas and explore different ways to make a project like a yearbook be more accessible, engaging, and resourceful for students. Using Spotify’s scan code feature, educators will be able to see how they can engage students by integrating music within their yearbook. By using an online QR code generator, educators will learn how to make resources available to their intended audience. Finally, I am hoping that after exploring these two emerging ideas, educators can start thinking on how to make their yearbooks more equitable for their student population. Perhaps a speech-over-text feature. Even though I will be giving examples of how I applied these skills on a yearbook, these skills can be applied to PBL projects and regular school assignments.

Aside from focusing on teaching 8th grade U.S. History, I like to dive into stretching the limits of technology into other areas. Some areas include the school’s yearbook, staff meetings, sports promo videos, and anything I can get my hands on.
