There are many facets to digital accessibility, but two of the quickest and easiest items to adjust are color contrast and font selection.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this poster session is to bring better awareness and understanding to provide participants with a quick, and easy takeaway when it comes to digital accessibility -- color contrast and font selection. Every individual will be able to take away accessibility information regardless of their technical knowledge.
Participants will:
Review color contrast
Acquire resources such as WebAIM’s contrast checker to help select an accessible color palette
Ascertain what the difference is between serif and sans serif fonts
Discover how to select an accessible font.

Chrystal Trapani is an Instructional Technologist with the Center for Learning and Teaching and an adjunct instructor in the Department of English at Old Dominion University. Chrystal blends her experience working with first-generation and non-traditional students, curriculum development, creating interactive and accessible online course content, digital accessibility, and training faculty in order to help them achieve positive student outcomes and success. In working with faculty, she helps her colleagues gain strong, working knowledge of how to make course content successful for students of all learning abilities.
