The purpose of this talk is for LeVar Burton to speak about his experience as an advocate for literacy using platforms from television to podcasts to tablets and how replicating and learning from some of his successes and expertise can help spread a joy of reading and why it is so important.
LeVar Burton will participate in a fireside chat to share his expertise and thoughts on the future of education and how his past experiences inform his work for the future.
- Burton will talk about his multi-decade career working as an advocate for literacy and the love of reading including his work on Reading Rainbow, his work as an author, actor, podcaster and more.

The honored recipient of 12 Emmy Awards, a Grammy and 5 NAACP awards, Burton has been often invited as the keynote speaker at leading education and technology events, including NASA, ISTE and more. In April of 2022 it was announced that Burton will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Children’s and Family Emmys in December.
